To See

to be
to see
to read again
to see the light stream in

to be
to see
to lens it in like
photon lasso rodeo cowboy performance
to capture pieces of this fugacious fancy in
microscopic pixels of flash-freeze retinal retention

to read
to read like once we read
to swallow whole another's visions
to moby-dick one hapless jonah after another
to feel the rush of gulping down
consciousness exploding

to be
to see
to read again
to let the light blaze in

to see
to be

  1. "to moby-dick one hapless jonah after another" - I love that phrase, so original and intriguing.
Interesting vision of existence- we live to take in information, share each other's visions, creations, art, novel, fiction etc. It's quite true- there is a cycle. You read/see/swallow in another man's consciousness and then you are inspired to share your own bits of psyche with other craving though-addict individuals. Though I must say, I kind of missed the actual element of creation, the subtle "to create" but perhaps that wasn't your design.

  2. i enjoyed using moby-dick as a verb. my glasses should arrive soon. i have these eye issues that make optics particularly precious. to see (much better) is, to no small degree, to be. i hope one day to be able to read again. sometimes i think i grok the impulses driving james joyce.
